Hubble Repair Mission Approved

The HST has given me so much pleasure on a personal level, not to mention the groundbreaking science that has been accomplished. It's one of those programs the makes me more than happy to pay my taxes and I for one totally support the decision to make repairs and upgrade equipment onboard the aging beast.

any money spent on NASA has to be better than the money spent on the average US gub'ment project...

i'm glad too, Hubble has definitely been worth the trouble and money for upgrades, repairs, etc. - funny, the pic you posted of the stellar explosion is what i'm using as a desktop background right now!
Hopefully they will launch a new & improved telescope in the next 5 years or so, Hubble was put into orbit in 1990 - 16 years ago .... even with the upgrades, that sucker is ancient.
Spitzer is kicking ass too - just went thru their archives the other night
