Chaosnow's old ISP fucking picked up stakes at midnight on Sunday, April 29, 2007 so they could avoid paying four months back rent! No shit. A literal midnight move. I never thought an actual ISP with server rooms and an office full of staff would do that.
If you're pulling your weight, paying your bills, doing good bitness and making the best decisions you can, THANK YOU. You know what? THANK YOU. I appreciate what you do and how hard you work to do it. That shit's important.
You may know by now, not everyone is doin it right. There are some desperate motherfuckers out there making bad decisions, some of which knocked chaosnow (and about 200 other company websites) right off the net. Actual server machines were pilfered. There were lawsuits. FBI got involved. Machines were returned to their owners. It took about 6 months for the dust to settle. All because some dick in charge of some dink-ass ISP decided to skip rent.
Since the slack abideth here at chaosnow, there was no actual harm done. Moreover the site has experienced an effect known as Intangibility-Induced Value Appreciation. This means Chaosnow is more valuable now than it ever was, thanks to the interruption.
Theoretically, it's value was at a premium (infinite) during the 8,760 some-odd hours it did not exist.
